Aldham Old Time Rally 2024
Aldham Old Time Rally is a fun day out for all the family. Organised entirely by unpaid volunteers from the North East Essex Tractor & Engine Club and the Earls Colne Scout & Guide Group, the show celebrates our rural heritage.
Tractors arrived at the beginning of the 20th century and are still with us. See up to a hundred examples from Britain and beyond illustrating the whole history of tractor production.
Before tractors, steam traction engines provided the mechanical power on farms and went on to be adapted to make roads, power fairground rides and the first mechanical heavy goods vehicles.

A selection of these are always on display at the rally together with scale models of traction engines made by local craftsmen.
When mechanical power was required on the farm and a tractor or steam engine was too big or expensive, the stationary engine was used. Many different sizes and types were produced and you will see a good selection of them working at the show.
Aldham Rally isn’t just a vehicle show though

There are always a wide variety of trade stalls ranging from autojumble to greeting cards and garden furniture to crafts and garden plants. We also have a Craft Tent where you may see local crafters at work.
Refreshments are always available ranging from Ice Creams to Burgers and Fish & Chips and of course a Beer Tent.
The rally takes place on grass and is suitable for wheelchair users if fit or accompanied by an able bodied helper. Disabled toilet facilities and priority parking are always available.
