AMK operates a large and diverse fleet, predominantly comprising Scania and DAF vehicles, supporting construction and infrastructure projects across the Scotland. While the company has historically invested in high-quality used vehicles, this latest addition represents a strategic step into new vehicle procurement, underlining AMK’s continued growth and confidence in its future operations.

The 32-tonne DAF XD450 Construction tipper has been specified with a Traxon automatic transmission and sleeper cab for night out work, delivering robust on-site capability alongside improved driver comfort and efficiency.

Alec MacKenzie, AMK Plant & Tipper Hire Ltd, said:

“We already run a sizeable fleet, mainly Scanias and DAFs, but this is the first time we’ve invested in a brand-new truck. Working with MV Commercial made the process straightforward:  they sourced the vehicle, helped us get the specification exactly right, introduced us the MV Asset Finance, and ultimately got it on the road quickly. That relationship and trust was a key factor for us.”

The close working relationship between AMK and MV Commercial ensured a seamless process from vehicle specification to delivery, while the in-house finance support from MV Asset Finance enabled a fast and efficient funding solution.

Alec added:

“Using MV’s in-house finance team, MV Asset Finance, made a huge difference. MV offers the complete package, vehicle supply, specification and finance all under one roof. From the first call to standing here with the truck took just three weeks, which is exceptional.”

Scott Bishop, Business Development Manager at MV Commercial, who worked directly with Alec MacKenzie on the acquisition, said:

“Alec and the AMK team were clear on what they needed from day one. Our job was to source the right DAF, get the specification nailed down quickly and keep everything moving so the truck could be delivered and earning as soon as possible. When you’ve got a strong relationship and everyone is aligned, you can turn it around fast, and this deal shows exactly that.”

Adam Aspden, Head of Sales at MV Asset Finance, added:

“This deal is a great example of how the right finance solution can support business growth. AMK is an established operator with a strong fleet, and this first move into a new vehicle is a positive step forward. Our role was to make the financing straightforward and aligned with their growth plans, allowing them to invest in the asset with confidence and keep their focus on operations.”

The addition of the new DAF XD450 tipper strengthens AMK’s fleet capability and demonstrates how close collaboration between MV Commercial, MV Asset Finance and AMK can deliver rapid, effective solutions that support long-term growth.
