The new system enables transport operators to access axle and total vehicle weight data remotely via the internet, enhancing fleet management efficiency and operational compliance. CALM technology provides real-time visibility of vehicle weights for individual vehicles or across an entire fleet, allowing for immediate intervention if required.

CALM is the latest connected technology from Axtec as the company continues to address the complex challenges faced by transport managers trying to ensure their vehicles operate within legal weight limits while maximising payload efficiency.

CALM introduces two new Data Link options; a LAN Data Link that connects to an operator’s local network, and a Cellular Data Link providing internet access from anywhere in the world. Both solutions allow users to view, print and download vital weight information through personally configurable screens.

The system features sophisticated security protocols with authorisation levels controlled by password, enabling users to access weighbridges at specific sites, regional operations, or nationwide. Read/write privileges are similarly password-protected, ensuring data integrity while providing maximum operational flexibility.

“CALM represents a major technical breakthrough in how fleet operators can interact with their Axtec weighbridge,” said Keith Gresham, Managing Director at Axtec. “We’ve effectively transformed traditional weighbridge technology into a sophisticated Internet-of-Things solution. By integrating secure network connectivity with our proven weighing expertise, we’ve created a system that not only delivers precise weight data but makes that information accessible and actionable across an entire organisation. This level of connectivity gives transport managers a greater degree of control over their compliance management.  The manager can be alerted to an overload as soon as it occurs, enabling prompt action.”

The introduction of the CALM technology builds on Axtec’s reputation for innovative weighing solutions that help transport operators maintain legal compliance. The Axtec 6000 Series Dynamic Weighbridge is the most accurate dynamic weighbridge in the world, providing axle and total weights for a six-axle artic in just 40 seconds, to an accuracy of +0.5%.
