Daimler Truck is partner of the Carolina Panthers at the NFL Game Weekend in Munich: Freightliner Cascadia on display

9 November 20243 min read
Daimler Truck is proudly announcing the partnership with the Carolina Panthers team for the NFL Game-Weekend in Munich. On November 10, the NFL team from Charlotte, North Carolina, will face the New York Giants at the Allianz Arena. For the entire weekend, the focus in downtown Munich is on American football. Truck fans and American Football fans can expect a very special eye-catcher close to the Carolina Panthers Fan-Fest: Daimler Truck will be presenting a Freightliner Cascadia right on Munich's Odeonsplatz.

The US brand Freightliner has been part of the Daimler Truck portfolio for decades and primarily produces heavy-duty long-haul and vocational trucks for the North American market. The heavy-duty Freightliner Cascadia is the most popular Class 8 truck in North America, and the brand recently introduced the fifth generation of the Cascadia. The Cascadia, which is resplendent in matte black and blue in Munich, is a rare vehicle on German roads. The vehicle serves as a test vehicle for Daimler Truck in Germany and was spruced up for its first visit to the Bavarian capital on the occasion of the NFL Munich Game 2024. With its size of four meters in height and 2.5 meters in width, as well as the long hood and three axles typical for the North American market, the Cascadia is an eye-catcher. The truck has an especially large and high cab (“sleeper cab”) with a separated sleeping area for the driver.

Daimler Truck North America and the Carolina Panthers

Daimler Truck North America (“DTNA”), the US subsidiary of Daimler Truck, has been a sponsoring partner of the Carolina Panthers since 2017 and will continue to support the American football team from Charlotte in North Carolina during this NFL season. In June of this year, a delegation from the Carolina Panthers visited the Daimler Truck headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart. The Carolina Panthers have been playing in the NFL (NFC South Division) since 1995. DTNA has several thousand employees in the region at its sites in North Carolina and South Carolina, many of whom are enthusiastic fans of the Carolina Panthers. In addition to generating awareness for the brand, the partnership is primarily aimed at employee activation and joint participation in local initiatives. DTNA and the Carolina Panthers have been successfully partnering on charitable projects for years. Last year, for example, Carolina Panthers fans and DTNA employees collected gifts for families in need as part of the “Toy Drive” in December.

About Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers became the 29th National Football League franchise on October 26, 1993. The Panthers began play in the 1995 season, winning an expansion-team-record seven games. In 28 seasons, Carolina has won six division titles, including three consecutive NFC South division titles from 2013-15. The Panthers have played in 17 playoff games, winning two NFC Championships and appearing in Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl 50. David A. Tepper, the founder and president of global hedge fund Appaloosa Management, L.P. and a well-known philanthropist, is the owner of the Carolina Panthers. Truly representing both Carolinas, the Panthers play their home games at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., just miles from the North Carolina-South Carolina border. Serving the two-state region is a priority for the team. The Panthers work with over 3,800 community partners, non-profit agencies and schools in the Carolinas each year and are committed to positively impacting the region by providing philanthropic funding, resources and opportunities throughout the Carolinas.
