In a recent article, DACHSER CEO Burkhard Eling talks about tackling their own emissions first and reducing them as fast as possible, while also collaborating with customers, service partners carriers, and the entire ecosystem in the logistics industry.
DACHSER has developed a way to deploy battery-electric trucks and vans in combination with electrically assisted cargo bikes and StreetScooters so that delivery in defined inner-city areas is completely emission-free. This concept is trademarked DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery has been rolled out in thirteen European cities so far with eleven more planned by 2025.
Additionally, by sourcing and charging with green power only, they hope to cut operational greenhouse gas emissions to zero, whilst reducing truck congestion.
