The business, which operates from eight sites spanning the Midlands region, secured the crown after an exceptional 12-month period which has seen it make major investments across its operations, including a significant upgrade to its site in Oldbury. The team at its Birmingham depot also secured Volvo’s ‘Lean for Retail’ bronze accreditation, in a move which has unlocked multiple efficiency gains across one of its busiest locations – and is now set to be replicated across all Hartshorne Group dealerpoints.

New truck orders have also flourished, with the sales team exceeding targets by more than 40 per cent, including a healthy order book for new electric trucks. Hartshorne Group is also leading the way in innovation, with more than 80 per cent of its FH orders now comprising the new FH Aero model, helping fleets to take a big step forward in reducing their carbon footprint.

Christian Coolsaet, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland, says: “To be crowned Dealer of the Year you must go above and beyond to deliver excellence across all areas of the business. That’s precisely what the team at Hartshorne Group have done, and this win reflects their hard work and passion for providing our customers with the very best service and support every single day.

“They’ve also achieved this whilst keeping a firm eye on the future – ensuring their business is developing in line with our ambitious 2030 growth strategy.”

James Cowen, Managing Director of Hartshorne Group, explains: “The team has been laser focused on what we wanted to achieve, and I am immensely proud of them – it’s fantastic to see this commitment pay off.

“You can see the results across the business, from our strong new truck order intake, to exceeding targets for MOT pass rates, contract penetration and VECTO scores. We’re lucky to serve an incredible customer base, and we want to thank every one of them for their trust and support – this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without them.”

Hartshorne Group was established in 1968 and has dealerships in Alfreton, Birmingham, Burton, Nottingham, Oldbury, Potteries, Shrewsbury and Walsall.
