This deployment builds upon a successful pilot in Portugal that demonstrated the all-electric Carrier Transicold solution’s technical performance and strong operational benefits. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

“The delivery of the first two Vector eCool systems to the HAVI Group’s fleet marks a decisive step in the electrification of our cold chain, validated by a successful pilot in Portugal and now scalable across the group,” said Carlos Santos, Operations Director, HAVI Portugal. “It is particularly rewarding to finally see a refrigeration unit operating without a factory-installed diesel engine, proving that sustainability and performance can go hand-in-hand. This milestone was only possible thanks to the joint efforts of our partners Addvolt and Carrier Transicold, as part of a long-term journey aligned with HAVI Group’s global strategy."

The Vector eCool is a fully electric, autonomous refrigeration system for semi-trailers that eliminates the need for a combustion engine. The result of a collaboration between Carrier Transicold, Addvolt (now part of Carrier) and SAF-Holland, the solution combines an all-electric refrigeration system with energy regeneration during movement and energy storage. This combination ensures continuous refrigeration even when the vehicle is stationary or not connected to the power grid. With this technology, HAVI Portugal aims to deliver greater operational efficiency, a decrease in maintenance needs and a significant reduction in emissions and noise.

“We are proud to support HAVI Portugal in this transformative journey,” said José António Gomes, Country Manager Carrier Transicold Portugal. “The adoption of eCool technology demonstrates how innovation can redefine cold chain logistics, making electric refrigeration a practical reality for fleets ready to embrace the future.”

This move supports HAVI Group’s global strategy to combine decarbonisation with technological innovation. The new 100% electric semi-trailers will transport temperature-sensitive goods between logistics centres and client restaurants.
