• Two specialist bulk tankers delivering daily to GreenChem customers
• Win follows recent Hutchinson Transport MBO by Rhys and Nathan Hutchinson
The agreement sees Hutchinson Transport operating two bulk tankers on behalf of GreenChem, supporting the manufacturer and supplier’s national network of AdBlue customers, which includes truck and bus operators, forecourts, agricultural users and other commercial sites.
The contract follows the management buyout of Hutchinson Transport Ltd and Hutchinson Technical Services Ltd, completed on 1 April 2026 by brothers Rhys and Nathan Hutchinson. Rhys, previously Operations Director, has taken on the role of Managing Director, while Nathan, formerly Technical Director, is Managing Director of Hutchinson Technical Services, the group’s commercial vehicle workshop business.
For Hutchinson Transport, the GreenChem partnership represents both a new product stream and a move into the long-term customer relationships it is targeting as it enters its next phase of growth.

Supporting GreenChem’s national network
GreenChem Solutions specialises solely in AdBlue and is part of GreenChem Holding, which has operations across Europe. In the UK, the company manufactures and supplies AdBlue through seven production sites, with bulk product delivered into customer tanks across the country.
Hutchinson Transport’s two vehicles are operating daily on the contract, with drivers carrying out multi-drop deliveries to GreenChem customer tanks. The work typically involves between 10 and 15 drops per day, with vehicles loading from production sites and delivering measured quantities of AdBlue into tanks ranging from small top-ups to larger bulk drops.
The vehicles are based in Hull but operate across the UK with routes often taking them into the Midlands and further south depending on GreenChem’s customer requirements. Each vehicle covers around 1,500km a week, with daily work planned around GreenChem’s customer telemetry data, tank levels and delivery priorities.
Delivering the contract
The work is planned around GreenChem’s telemetry-monitored customer tanks, which feed stock-level data into its planning team and determine when, where and how much AdBlue is required.
The vehicles operating on the contract are DAF and Volvo tractor units, matching Hutchinson Transport’s wider fleet profile, coupled to single-compartment bulk tankers fitted with metering systems and printers.
Rhys said: “These are not standard bulk deliveries. The drivers need to be able to dispense precise volumes, issue the correct paperwork and follow GreenChem’s site procedures safely and consistently at every stop.”
The metering equipment allows drivers to pump the exact volume of AdBlue required at each stop, whether that is a small top-up or a larger bulk drop. The onboard printer then provides a delivery ticket for the customer, creating an auditable record of the volume supplied.
Workshop support and uptime
Hutchinson Transport’s in-house engineering capability, through Hutchinson Technical Services, has also proved important in supporting the GreenChem operation.
The workshop business provides maintenance and repair support for Hutchinson Transport’s own fleet, helping to minimise downtime and keep vehicles safely on the road.
Jack commented: “We have already seen that if there is an issue with a truck or tanker, they can turn it around quickly and get it back on the road. That is crucial for this type of operation, where minimising downtime really matters.”
Growth under new ownership
Rhys said the contract is an important statement of intent for the business as he and Nathan build on the foundations laid by their parents, Bruce and Gill Hutchinson.
