About the role
Scutt’s Potatoes are looking for a full-time Class C1 HGV delivery driver to join our wholesaling enterprise at Eastrington driving a 7.5 ton Iveco panel van to deliver potatoes to Fish and Chip Shops throughout Yorkshire.Are you a HGV Class C driver frustrated with:Working unsociable hours.Not having time with family at weekends or on an evening.Having little or no social interaction during the day.Long non-stop journeys with little or no chance for exercise.Not being appreciated within a large organisation.Then working for a small family business like ours in this role could be for you.Our fleet of four vans include two medium wheel base Mercedes Sprinter vans (Cat B Driving Licence) and two 7.5 ton long wheel base Iveco panel vans (Cat C1 Driving Licence).The successful applicant will be working within a small friendly team of four full time drivers, liaising between our potato growing enterprise, our sales and administration in team the farm office and our customers to deliver potatoes direct from farm to fish and chip shop.The working week is generally Monday to Friday with a 6.30am-8am start time depending on the location of the first drop. The number of hours is usually around 6-9 hours per day.The applicant must:Live within 15 miles of EastringtonHave a Class C1 HGV Driving licensePreferably hold a CPC and digital Tachograph CardBe strong and fit enough to be able to lift and handle 25kg bags of potatoes delivering to shop storage areas with the aid of a sack trolley.Be able to work independently and plan routesHave numeracy skills to complete invoices, daily paperwork and stock management reconciliation sheets.Be able to take payments.Be motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn.Salary - This will be dependent on experience.
