About the role
This is an incredible opportunity for a Head of HR to join us here at Motus Truck & Van.To drive the implementation of HR Strategy for Motus Truck & Van through cultural transformation to ensure the commercial aims of the business are achieved. This strategy will aim to make Motus Truck & Van an employer of choice by creating an environment which delivers high levels of employee engagement. The role will be responsible for all elements of the HR portfolio: overall strategy & direction, employee relations, reward, transactional excellence, policy, resourcing, training and development.Key Accountabilities1. Own the HR Strategy for Motus Truck & Van2. Drive and lead Motus Truck & Van core values3. Create the direction to deliver the implementation of specific initiatives, projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation4. Be a member of the Motus Truck & Van leadership team, supporting and coaching each Director on any HR topic as well as taking responsibility for all HR actions to support this senior team5. Create and lead the change management processes, becoming the reference point for the HR team, for example providing guidance on the people workstreams for implementing new business, including advising on matters such as TUPE, employment law and restructuring exercises6. Ensure a successful annual employee engagement and culture survey for 100% of the employees takes place ensuring action plans are developed and followed through to ensure employee engagement is progressing7. Manage the HR Team to ensure the best candidates are successfully identified and recruited into the business with their personal involvement to support the company’s commercial growth8. Manage the HR Team to ensure all employees are on-boarded consistently and effectively9. Ensure reward is optimised consistently across the company to ensure the company best reflect the market conditions to allow us to recruit and retain our people effectively as well as motivating high performance and the right behaviours10. Develop direction to ensure that all transactional processes used within the HR function are consistent and optimised so that employee data (such as pay data) is accurate and timely11. Be the reference point to provide expertise and support in all employee relations cases12. Take responsibility to ensure accurate and appropriate HR data is provided to create insight and support strategic decisions as needed13. Drive timely management of absence utilising occupational health where appropriate14. Provide direction and process to ensure 100% of employees have engaging and effective performance management interventions, at least receiving a PDR every 12 months from their direct line manager15. Drive the division’s Apprenticeship recruitment and development programme ensuring the best possible future pipeline of talent exists16. Create and drive an annual training programme across the division optimising training across the business to ensure appropriate and engaging content is driving the right performance and behaviours output as well as ensuring all OEM mandatory training requirements are met without exception17. Develop a robust talent programme to deliver strong succession planning interventions across the business to ensure there is a strong pipeline of talent in the managerial populations18. Be the reference point to act as a coach and mentor to the senior teams in how to deal effectively with both conduct and capability issuesSkillsExperienced Senior HR Manager/Head of HR ideally within the automotive sectorStrong leader with the ability and experience of creating cultural transformationStrong team playerVery strong relationship building, negotiation and influencing skillsSomeone that others will trust with sensitive data and informationStrong & courageous, especially when standing up for what is rightInquisitive, operating with an open mindStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate at all levels of the organisationIntellectually strong, ability to absorb and assess a situation quickly drawing the appropriate conclusionsBalanced & emotionally resilient to be able to drive change despite setbacks and challengesStrong IT and data skillsAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesExtensive knowledge of how the business works and understanding of the commercial environment the business operates inAbility to display empathy and sensitivity towards peopleAbility to deliver and receive criticism in an open and clear wayExperience and QualificationsIt is expected that this role will be filled by a candidate with considerable experience in the HR domain as senior HR Manager or Head of HR, and who is professionally qualified, holding CIPD accreditation at an appropriate level.Team and StakeholdersThe Head of HR will be supported by a team of an HR Administrator and a Recruitment Co-ordinator that report directly to them. The Head of HR will be part of a wider team of senior HR leaders across the other 3 Motus UK divisions and will have a dotted reporting line to the Chief People Officer of Motus UK. Whilst there is a significant degree of autonomy within the division there is also the need to work with the Motus UK (and indeed the wider Motus global business based in South Africa) on many HR initiatives.
