About the role

Based at London Medway Commercial Park, Hoo, Rochester Kent.Hours- Mon- Fri 7.30am -16.30 but may vary slightly if urgent work is required.I and A Communications Ltd now have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our company at I&A Communications Ltd. We are a Telecommunications Company whereby we replace and provide telegraph poles.We have a fleet of Ivecos Vans and DAF 13t Lorries which require daily inspections and repairs.We have two depots based at Rochester and Risby but predominantly you will be based at Rochester, Kent.Key Role& ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to repair, maintain and inspect our fleet of commercial vehicles within our fleet maintenance facilities.Working in accordance with Driver Vehicle and Standards Agency guidelines which you will completePeriodic maintenance inspectionsUndertake any necessary repairs, diagnostic tests and MOT preparation using manual tools and technological devices.Work with the management team and co-workers to establish a timeframe for the completion of each inspection or repair.You’ll also be involved in conducting vehicle test drives after repairs have been completed to ensure roadworthinessEnsuring workshop equipment is serviceable, tested and maintained, and operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety measures.Ensuring all inspection and repair documentation, either manually or electronically, after work, has been completed on the vehicle.Logging service regime to ensure our fleet of vehicles comply with service and inspection schedules.Essential SkillsYou will need to be experienced in maintaining Commercial vehicles ranging from 3.5t to 13tDriving license RequiredHGV Class 2 licence ideally required, although training can be given to the right candidatePrevious experience in mechanics (preferably in commercial vehicles)Ability to work well under pressureAbility to work independentlyGood communication skills both written and verbalYou must be able to communicate with work colleagues and Suppliers accordingly.Please note you may be required to work outside of normal working hours when operationally required, but this will be very rare.Employment Benefits28 days holiday Inclusive of Bank HolidaysCompany Pension SchemeCompetitive Salary £30,000- £40,000 depending on experienceJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per yearSchedule:Day shiftWork Location: In person
