About the role
Our Client is a leading local business specialising in a wide range of waste management and recycling services. Modern waste management covers a number of disciplines, each of which requires its own particular expertise, specialist equipment, industry accreditations and licensing requirementsThey are looking for a HGV (LGV) Technician for their Workshop team with various levels of experience to join their workshop in Colchester.The ideal candidate must have experience in the servicing and maintenance of a variety of Heavy Goods vehicles such as Iveco, Volvo, DAF & Various Trailers.The Required Qualifications and Skills· Maintenance and servicing of a fleet of HGV’s.· MOT preparation on vehicles· Inspection of fleet every 8 weeks to ensure consistent smooth running and minimise downtime.· To follow correct Health and Safety procedures at all times· To ensure vehicle breakdowns and repairs are dealt with in line with company procedures· To ensure appropriate paperwork is completedKEY Skills & Experience· Possess sound knowledge of all HGV mechanical functions· Ability diagnose problems effectively· Work to MOT standards at all times Experience in the servicing of HGV’s· Experience in maintaining vehicles including PMI inspections· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role· HGV Class 1 License (C+E) essential.· City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance is preferredSalary: From £18.00 per hourBenefits:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayOvertime availableCompany pensionOn-site parkingTemp to perm of 14 weeks.Job Types: Temp to perm, Permanent, Full-timeContract length: 14 weeksSalary: £18.00-£20.00 per hourSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeAbility to commute/relocate:Wormingford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Experience:HGV Motor Mechanics: 1 year (required)Licence/Certification:HGV Driving Licence (required)Work Location: In personReference ID: AD/CS/GVTEC
