HGV Technician - Thetford Location: Thetford, GB, IP24 1HZPosition Type: Professional£1,000 signing bonus!! (direct applicants only) Salary up to £19 per hour dependent upon skill set and experience!! Shift pattern is Monday to Friday 6 am – 2 pm / 2- 10 pm with alternative Saturdays paid at overtime.As an HGV technician, you will be joining our Service & Workshop team at our Volvo Truck and Bus Centre. Where you will be ensuring repairs are carried out according to Volvos Standards. Here at Volvo Trucks, we believe are at the forefront of Electromobility so you will also be working on a range of systems which include alternative fuels such as LNG, hybrid and Full electric vehicles. Double time on Sundays and bank holidaysGenerous Pension PlanHealth cash plan- includes Access to dental insuranceI25 days holiday + bank holidays raising with service to 30 daysEnhanced paternity/maternity leaveEmployee savings and retail discountsCycle to work schemeSupport for you and your family through an online Wellbeing CentreWorkwear provided such as Volvo polos, sweatshirts, work trousers and fleece jacket Who are you?Skills/QualificationsCity and Guilds, an NVQ3 or equivalent qualification is requiredYou’ll also have completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry, or have equivalent experience, along with relevant experience in the commercial vehicle industry.A basic knowledge of computer software packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred, as is a general level of computer literacy.we’d expect you to have a basic working knowledge of vehicle technology What will you doEnsure repairs are carried out according to the manufacturer’s procedures, safely and responsiblyEnsure repairs are carried out in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools where appropriateAssist in the fault diagnosis processComply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty material on completion of each repairAssist with Action Service Europe when requiredWork with the Parts Team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fittedRoad test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence)Assist with roadside breakdownsEnsure company time recording procedures are complied with, and that job cards are completed accuratelyEnsure service sheets are completed as per Volvo instructionsEnsure all vehicle defects are reported to workshop controllersKeep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintainedSupport the development of young trainees and apprentices Ready for the next move?Apply today or contact Debbie Walsh for more information - Debbie.Walsh@volvo.com We value your data privacy and therefore do not accept applications via mail.
