About the role

Lead DriverNuffield Health Cambridge HSSU Hub | Sterile Services | Permanent contract | Full timeUp to £33,000 per annum, depending on experience37.5 hours per weekPurpose of the Role:To lead, support and advise the HSSU driver teams in order to maintain the delivery & collection of medical devices ensuring all customer requirements are completed.To provide and integrate a professional delivery service for new customers joining Nuffield Health Sterilisation Services.As a Lead Driver, you will:Act as first line manager to a team of drivers in the supply of disinfected and sterile medical devices to customersProvide Induction, development and training and involvement in recruitment, performance reviews for both contracted & Agency drivers.Maintain accurate and comprehensive vehicle records for all safety compliance requirementsProvide standby and emergency cover within the context of Drivers Hours Legislation or excessive sicknessPrepare and participate for all external accreditation audits to ensure transport compliance.Legally maintain delivery vehicles in order to meet compliance requirements.Ensure that drivers meet all required legal responsibilities / conduct investigations with any short falls.Investigate all Road Traffic collisions, communicate with our Insurance provider & conduct briefings with HSSU driver concerned.Record all concerned Road Traffic Collisions and HSSU driver non- compliance to Nuffield Health RADAR reporting systemEnsure continuation of driver CPC training is upheld throughout a 5-year period.Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and organisational policies, procedures, and systems, including Health and Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Infection Prevention and take appropriate action where necessaryAs a Lead Driver, you will have:A full and clean driving licence (preferably clean - either C1 or pre 1997 licence)Driver Certificate of Competence (Driver CPC)Good communication skillsDemonstrable relevant experience working within a logistics function, including experience of digital tachographsDrivers Hours Legislation knowledgeRole Specific Competencies:Focuses positively and constructively to meet customer requirements.Participates in self-development in order to improve work performance.Communicates appropriately and effectively with customers and colleagues.Respects and supports colleagues.Ensures own work is done correctly and recognises the impact on the organisationHelping you feel good.We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued.
