About the role

Duties in this role will include but not be restricted to:PDI checks on incoming goods when required and preparing new and used equipment following our detailed process to an excellent standard ready to dispatch.Load bank testing of machines including client witness testing where required.Generator repairs where requiredUpgrading of panels where requiredAdding value to new equipment including fitting battery chargers, water heaters, and three way valves where requiredMonthly stock takes.Working under pressure of deadlinesCleaning and preparing generators for sale.Loading and unloading vehicles (a current forklift license would be an advantage).Ensuring the yard and warehouse are clean, tidy and presentable at all times,Managing the work flow and the yard team to ensure work is being completed on time and to a high standardSupporting the company director and team with loading and off-loading equipment safely.Being responsible for the Health and Safety in the workshop ensuring all forklifts are checked and tested on a daily basis and training new staff when required.Ensuring the yard area is clean, tidy and presentable at all times.Weekly planning meetings.We welcome applications from self motivated individuals who are keen to learn more about diesel generators however, the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years working in the Genset industry with knowledge of both Perkins and Cummins engines and with knowledge of using the DSE Control system. Be presentable, polite and happy to work outdoors. This is a manual job with high expectations of getting the job done right first time and communicating what is happening with management.Salary: Is completely open to discussion. For the right candidate with the right skill set and attitude we will reward well and would be expecting to pay between £17-£20 per hour for the right applicant.Holiday: 21 days per year plus Bank holidaysHours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch breakJob Type: Full-timeSalary: £17.00-£20.00 per hourBenefits:On-site parkingSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Pershore, WR10 2JL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Education:A-Level or equivalent (preferred)Experience:Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (required)Work Location: In person Generators for Export (GFE) is a dedicated specialist in the supply of used diesel, petrol, and gas generators. We are a British leader in the sale and global distribution of pre-owned, low houred, power generation equipment from leading brands including Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, FG Wilson, Caterpillar and Iveco. Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, positive person to join our team. The role will involve working outdoors most of the time and will appeal to someone who is comfortable working alone or as part of a team. The role includes managing the yard and yard team and being responsible for Incoming generator checks and repairing where necessary and getting generators ready for sale as well as checking incoming parts stock and ensuring they are correctly stored. You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth running of operations and infrastructure of the yard whilst adhering to health & safety protocols.
